NOTICE OF RACE
The organising authority will be the Whitsunday Blokart Club (WBC) under the auspices of the Australian Blokart Association (ABA)
Event Host: Port Dennison Sailing Club
1. Rules
1.1 The event will be conducted under the IBRA Racing Rules version 8 including current IBRA clarifications, as modified by the Sailing Instructions.
1.2 A novice division, if held, will be conducted under the ABA Introductory Novice Rules.
1.3 Rule changes to the extent permitted by IBRA Racing Rules A2
1.4 These documents can be easily downloaded from www.aba.com
1.5 Teams for the 3 person relay races will include entrants from two or more clubs, will include at least 1 production kart and at least two weight divisions. Teams races will be of a fixed 45 minute duration, with change after each 15 minute period.
1.6 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
2. Eligibility
2.1 All competitors must be financial members of an IBRA recognised body through either direct memberships or through a member club. Evidence of membership may be required to be produced.
2.2 By completing and lodging the entry form (Appendix 1 below) the entrant undertakes to abide by the IBRA Racing Rules and the values of sportsmanship.
3. Entry Fees
3.1 Entry fees shall be $30.00 and are due by 19 August 2022. A $10.00 discount applies to entrants to both the Cape Hillsborough and Bowen events.
3.2 Entries received after this date may incur a late fee of $20.00.
3.3 Entry fees can be electronically transferred to:

3.4 Scoring transponders will be used and will be supplied at registration. Failure to return transponder at the end of the regatta will impose a replacement fee of $50.00
4. Classes/Divisions
4.1 Racing will be conducted In Production or Performance divisions
4.2 Racing will also be conducted in weight divisions as per IBRA rule A.4.
4.3 Novice division will be conducted under ABA Novice guidelines.
5. Event Schedule
Track available for practice Wednesday 24 August 0900 – 1800hrs
Competitor Registration Wednesday 24 August 1000 – 1800hrs

Competitor information session Thursday 25 August 0900 – 0930hrs
3 Person Relay Races* Thursday 25 August 1000 – 1600hrs

Short Course Fleet Races day 1 Friday 26 August 1030 – 1600hrs
Short Course Fleet Races day 2 Saturday 27 August 1030 – 1600hrs
Short Course Fleet Races day 3 Sunday 28 August 1030 – 1500hrs
Awards Presentation Sunday 28 August 1630 Hrs
5.1 No race will be started after 1400hrs on May 27 the final race day.
6. Onsite/Online Race Noticeboard
6.1The official Race Notice Board shall be online at the Whitsunday Blokart Club website:

6.2 A track noticeboard will be available, located inside the Port Dennison Sailing Club

7.1 Races will be sailed in the area allocated and highlighted on a map of the area available as Appendix 2.
7.2 Courses will be set to suit the prevailing wind conditions.
7.3 The track surface is may be either concrete / Asphalt or sand.
7.4 Multiple races are to be held each race day. Race duration is planned for 8 minutes.
7.5 No race will be started on this surface without a consistent 8 knot breeze
8. Information session and oral instructions
8.1 A competitor information session will be held for all entrants at 0900 on August 25.
8.2 Oral instructions may be given by the PRO at or near the track entrance.
8.3 Further information sessions may be held in the Port Dennison Sailing Club clubhouse as required.
9. Scoring
9.1 Scoring shall be in accordance with IBRA racing Rules Part H.
9.2 A minimum of 5 races must be completed to constitute a series.

Prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the Organising Authority

Caravan park-the Harbour Lights caravan park is a short drive down the esplanade to the sailing club. Some sites and cabins are available. Contact them at 07 4786 1565 and mention Blokart for special pricing
11.2 Limited food and drinks will be available from the Port Dennison Sailing Club canteen
11.3 Tickets for the Welcome Dinner will be available at Registration.
